During this period, Kara stepped away from professional engagements to care for an immediate family member during a terminal illness.

When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted in-person learning in 2020, the work didn’t stop, it transformed. Kara redirected her focus to helping schools navigate remote instruction, accessibility, and student engagement. While public presentations and travel paused, support for teachers and students continued in new and urgent ways.
